Work permit exemption in Türkiye
According to the new circular published by the Turkish Immigration Department, it has been announced that some people, which we will explain each group below, are exempt from obtaining a work permit.
This work exemption has a time limit that is different for each group of people according to the type of activity they have.
According to Article 13 of the International Labor Law, which has been announced since October 1, non-residents of Turkey can register their application on the electronic exemption site of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security of Turkey.
In this way, after being accepted on the site, the applicant can have a work and residence permit in Turkey within the specified period of time, and there is no limit to the place of application, and you can apply when you are inside Turkey and when you are outside Turkey. Also, according to the announced rules, you can apply for a work exemption permit at the same time as you have a residence permit, or when your work exemption permit expires, you can apply for a residence permit in another way.

But who gets the work exemption permit?
Non-residents whose scope of activity is scientific, cultural and artistic activities can use the work permit exemption law for up to one month.
People who are present in Turkey for the purpose of training in the use of goods and services imported and exported to Turkey or installation and maintenance of equipment as well as repairs of related machines for the purpose of this activity and assembling them can use the work permit exemption law for up to 3 months.
Board members and CEOs of anonymous companies or employees who hold key positions in this company and whose presence is effective for the continuation of the company's affairs can apply for a work permit exemption for up to 3 months by sending documents to the announced site.
People who are of Turkish descent can use the work permit exemption law for up to 3 months if they can provide evidence of this.
Those who have sports activities and provide services in the field of sports can use the work permit exemption for 4 months according to the international labor laws in Turkey.
People who work in the field of student exchange in Turkish universities and foreign universities, provided that they have the necessary permits approved by the Supreme Council of Education, can be exempted from work permits for up to 3 months.
Farmers and ranchers who have seasonal work can stay in Turkey for up to 6 months and do their work without needing a work permit, and also have a Turkish residence.
People who are in charge of holding exhibitions, circuses and work related to reputable tourism institutions are exempted from work permit in Turkey for up to 6 months by submitting documents accepted by the Tourism and Exhibitions Organization in Turkey.
People who are invited by public institutions and organizations in economic, cultural or artistic fields can use the benefits of exemption in the work permit for up to 6 months.
Those who work as operators in Turkey can use this law for up to 8 months and have their residence and work in Turkey.
People who work in the financial programs of Turkey and the European Union can be present in Turkey until the end of their program and project.
If foreign students are going to spend their internship in Turkey, they can work in Turkey without a work permit until they complete their internship.
People who come to Turkish public universities for research and are studying in the same university can use the work permit exemption in Turkey for up to 2 years.
Athletes who work in Turkish teams can stay in Turkey as long as they have a contract with the said team and use the work permit exemption law and have their activities and residence in Turkey.
People who enter Turkey under religious programs under the supervision of official and legal bodies are exempt from work permits until the end of their service.
All employees and diplomats of consulates of countries who are working in Turkey are included in this law and can stay in Turkey without a work permit until the end of their service period.
People who are working in shipbuilding and shipbuilding related factories can work in Turkey until the end of their project and contract.
Medical and dental students are exempt in Türkiye.
And finally, seafarers who work on registered ships are exempt from work permits.
