  Ordu University is a public higher education institution opened in 2006 by the decision of the Council of Ministers after leaving OMU and KTU in Ordu.

The university, which still continues its education and training activities, was previously affiliated with Ondokuz Mayıs University, Ünye Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Fatsa Faculty of Marine Sciences, Faculty of Science and Letters, Faculty of Health, Mesudiye Vocational School and Karadeniz Technical University.
