Acquiring Turkish Citizenship through Adoption
A foreigner who is adopted by a citizen of the Republic of Turkey and who is not an adult (under 18 years of age) at the time of application; They can acquire Turkish citizenship, provided that they do not pose a problem in terms of our national security and public order.
After the adopted foreign person acquires Turkish citizenship, he/she continues to maintain his/her Turkish citizenship if the adoption relationship between him/her and the adopter ends for any reason.
The provisions of Article 15 apply to a foreign person who is adopted by a Turkish citizen and who is an adult (over 18 years old) on the date of application.

These provisions;
Be of legal age and have the power of discernment according to the national law of his/her own country and, if stateless, the Civil Code of the Republic of Turkey No. 4721.
Having resided in Turkey continuously for five years from the date of application.
He stated that he intends to settle in Turkey; Acquiring real estate in Turkey, establishing a business in the country, making various investments, transferring a trade and business center abroad to Turkey. Working in a workplace subject to a work permit and having confirmed it through similar behavior, or marrying a citizen of the Republic of Turkey. Applying as a family, having a mother, father, sibling or child who has previously acquired Turkish citizenship, or having completed their education in Turkey.
Not having a disease that poses a danger to general health or is contagious.
Demonstrating good moral character by acting with the sense of responsibility required by living together in Turkish society. Giving confidence to the environment with their behavior, not having bad habits that are not tolerated by the society and contrary to the values of the society.
Ability to speak Turkish at a level that allows one to adapt to social life.
Having an income or a profession that will provide a living for oneself or one's dependents in Turkey.
Not to be in a situation that would pose an obstacle to our national security and order.
