Türkiye Term Work Permit

Türkiye Term Work Permit
If a foreign national wants to work in Turkey, he/she must apply for a Turkish term work permit. Although there are different types of work permits, the most common is the temporary work permit. In this work permit category, it is the type of permit given depending on the duration of work signed by individuals with the institution or employer. Generally, it is given for 1 year. The most basic rule for application is the signed employment contract. Application can be made both domestically and internationally. Applications are made through the employer company and applications cannot be made individually. The hiring company or employer starts the process by declaring that they want to employ the foreign national in their company.

Domestic Temporary Work Permit Application
In this category, an application for a Turkish term work permit is made while the person is in Turkey. The first rule to apply in this category is that the person must have a valid residence permit. Even if this residence permit is on its last day, you can still apply. The process for applying for a work permit is carried out by the company that wants to recruit. Transactions are carried out by applying with the company's electronic signature. The whole process proceeds online through the Ministry of Labor. The employer will make the application and follow the process himself. The employee cannot apply for this work permit on his own.
When the application process is completed and the temporary work permit is approved, the employer will make the person's insurance entry and the work permit card will be received. When a work permit is granted, the person also has the right to a residence permit during the period. As long as the work permit continues, the right of residence remains permanent. The work permit can be renewed by applying for an extension 60 days before it expires. Although first-term work permit applications are given for 1 year, the period is generally longer for extension applications.

Application for a Temporary Work Permit Abroad
This is the part where the transactions are carried out before the foreign national enters the country to apply after making a business agreement with a company in Turkey. The application will be started here and will proceed by making an appointment through the foreign representative office (consulate, embassy). The person will initiate this appointment application request and submit the requested documents. Following the approval received, the continuation of the transactions will be carried out from here; After the short-term work permit is approved, the person's passport will be requested. A Turkish temporary work permit visa will be printed in his passport and he will be able to enter the country with this visa. The visa is issued for 30 days and the person must enter the country during this period. He/she will be able to start working legally by providing insurance within 30 days following his/her arrival in Turkey.
The work visa can now be converted into a work card and a residence card, allowing one to stay here legally. Although the person who has a work permit was initially granted a 1-year permit, the number of extension applications increases year by year. For those who have applied for a work permit abroad, extension applications for the following year will now be made as a domestic work permit. What needs to be taken into consideration here is that an extension application must be made before the given work permit expires and at least 60 days before its expiration. Here, the application processes are again carried out through the hiring company.
